Filing a Written Appeal

Avoid late fees and additional charges by paying tickets within 14 calendar days of issuance.

Tickets must be appealed within 14 calendar days of issuance. Appeal forms are available at the Parking Services Office.  Appeal forms may also be downloaded as a PDF Form or as a Microsoft Word Document and delivered or mailed to Parking Services. A decision letter will be mailed to the address provided by you on the appeal form within three weeks of the date the appeal was received by Parking Services.

Upheld Appeal
If your appeal is upheld, the fee is waived and payment is not required. No further action is required.

Denied Appeal
If your appeal is denied, you have the option of paying the ticket or scheduling a verbal appeal. If no action is taken within 14 calendar days, a late fee will be assessed. Any unpaid ticket issued to an active UConn student will be posted to their PeopleSoft account.

Requesting a Verbal Appeal

If the written appeal is denied by the PCAC, individuals may request a verbal appeal with the Hearing Officer within fourteen calendar days of the date of the PCAC decision letter. Verbal appeals are contingent upon the presentation of facts by the appellant that, if true, negate the cause of the citation. Those newly presented facts must have been unavailable to the PCAC at the time of the initial appeal’s determination or excluded from the PCAC’s decision-making processes. Those newly presented facts must also be independently verifiable by the Hearing Officer.

Upheld Verbal Appeal
If your verbal appeal is upheld, the fee is waived and payment is not required.  No further action is required.

Denied Verbal Appeal
If your verbal appeal is denied, payment is due within 14 calendar days of the denial date. See Paying a Ticket
